The Jackson Health Foundation’s (JHF) annual Recognition Dinner was held May 19, at Joe's Stone Crab in Miami. Chaired by JHF Board Members Patricia Wallace and Dr. Rudolph Moise, Vice Chairman of the JHF Board of Directors, the event recognized the contributions of JHF Golden Angel Society members in support of projects and programs benefiting the Jackson Health System. In addition to recognizing members of the Society who made new gifts this year, three very special awards were presented to former Golden Angel Society chairman Bunny Bastian; The Batchelor Foundation, founded by George E. Batchelor, and to Dr. Eugene J. Sayfie, UM Health System Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Director Executive Health Program.

The Jackson Health Foundation’s annual gala raised $1.6 million. Jackson employees joined over 600 philanthropists and community leaders on Saturday, January 24, at the trendy Soho Studios in Wynwood. Hosted by the foundation’s Golden Angels and celebrity “ringmaster” WPLG news anchor Laurie Jennings, guests attending the themed gala titled, “Meet Jack Under The Big Top,” were treated to an entertaining evening featuring a new-aged carnival atmosphere. Highlighting the evening were presentations to Harvey and Roberta Chaplin as Lifetime Humanitarian honorees.
Over 300 guests and philanthropists joined the International Kids Fund Wonderfund (IKF) at its annual Circle of Heroes Luncheon on February 26, to celebrate the many lives saved thanks to the generosity of the Circle of Heroes. Chaired by Mariana Sanchez, the luncheon was held at the beautiful Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens in Miami. Honored for their continued support and dedication to IKF were Hope of a Miracle Foundation, Major League Baseball player Ervin Santana, and Maria Sarria. The event also featured an exquisite menu created by Celebrity Chef, Michelle Bernstein and was hosted by Univision23 reporter Gloria Ordaz.
