The Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County, Florida, was created in 1973 by the Board of County Commissioners as an independent governing body for the county's most vital health care resource, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Today, the Trust is responsible for a countywide healthcare network that provides high-quality services to all residents, regardless of their ability to pay. The Trust is led by a "citizen body" that provides leadership for programs involving Jackson Health System, the University of Miami School Of Medicine, Miami-Dade County and many other private and community organizations.
